What devices commonly use it
Slim remotes, key fobs, and compact sensors commonly use CR2025 where a thinner cell is required.
What it's interchangeable with
You can substitute CR2032 for CR2025 only if there is extra thickness clearance. CR2016 may work temporarily in some spring-contact trays but has lower capacity and can lose contact.
What it's NOT interchangeable with
Do not substitute with LR44/SR44 because those are 1.5V button cells with different diameter and chemistry behavior.
Common mistakes
- Treating all 20mm coin cells as identical.
- Forcing thicker cells into tight battery doors.
- Ignoring intermittent contact from thinner substitutes.
